Frequently asked questions

Here are some common questions, but please do not hesitate to reach out if anything is not covered.

What type of therapy is on offer?

I offer integrative, trauma‑aware therapy that focuses on creating a space where you feel safe and not rushed. The way we work together matters, and we shape the sessions around what feels most supportive for you. Our work is collaborative and paced with care, drawing on a mix of approaches in a way that fits your needs and lived experience.

How do I know if this will be the right fit for me?

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it is important that you feel comfortable with the person you are working with. I offer a free 20‑minute consultation so you can get a sense of my approach, ask any questions, and see whether the way I work feels right for you. It will be a chance to talk things through and decide - without any pressure, whether this service is a good fit for your needs and goals.

What can I expect during my first session?
In your first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where you can share what feels important without pressure. I’ll ask a few gentle questions to understand what has been happening for you and what you’re hoping for from therapy. We’ll get to know each other, explore what feels most relevant right now, and decide together how we might work going forward. My approach is warm and personable, and I place real value on building a genuine rapport.

How can I be assured of confidentiality?

Confidentiality is a priority, and your privacy is respected at all times. Data is stored securely in line with professional and data‑protection requirements. You can be confident that what you share in sessions remains private, except in the rare situations where I am legally or ethically required to act to keep someone safe.

Do you offer concessionary rates?

The fee is £60 per session. I am able to offer concessionary rates to students and those who are unemployed. Please do not hesitate to ask.

I would like to begin - what happens next?

If you would like to begin therapy, you are welcome to book a free 20‑minute introductory session. You can also contact me through the form if you prefer, and we can arrange an informal chat about what you need and what the next steps might look like.
